Creating a Twitch overlay using Overlayr

In this short introduction, you will learn everything you need to know to create your twitch overlay using overlayr.

Step 1: Authenticate

The authentication button

You can log in to overlayr by simply using your existing twitch account. Simply click the get started button, and you are all set.

Alternatively, if you want to try overlayr, without creating an account, you can use the testflight feature. Simply enter your twitch username into the box and you can test overlayr. Be aware however, that you will not be able to use all of the features of overlayr, if you don't have an account.

Step 2: Creating your overlay

In the Editmode you can add interactive Widgets to your overlay and arrange them in a simple and easy to use Drag-and-Drop interface. You can use one of the predefined looks by using Themes or you can upload your custom design using the Image-Widget.

Step 3: Capture with OBS

Once you are satisfied with with your overlay, hit the red "Live" Button. You will be presented with the url that you can use with the OBS CLR plugin.

Make sure, that you have the CLR/Browsersource OBS plugin installed. In OBS, add a new CLR / Browsersource layer and paste the url from the dialog. You might have to rescale the layer to fit correctly.

If you cannot use the OBS CLR plugin, you can use Browser Capture to display the overlay.

You are now ready to stream.
